Biografia
Theodore Walter Rollins, in arte Sonny Rollins, è un sassofonista e compositore jazz, nato a Harlem (New York) nel 1930. È tra i fondatori del cosiddetto genere "Hard bop", che ha origine negli USA alla fine degli anni Quaranta.Tra i suoi più stretti collaboratori figura un altro artista che ha fatto la storia del jazz, Miley Davis. Rollins ha all'attivo una sterminata discografia, che dagli anni Cinquanta arriva ai giorni nostri. L'ultimo album è Sonny, please, del 2006.
